Mike McTighe
Non Executive Chairman

Mike McTighe is an experienced executive with over 35 years of international management experience and directorships in the mobile telecommunications industry. Mike was appointed to the Nujira board in September 2005.

Mike has held a number of directorships, and is currently Chairman of Volex Group plc, Chairman of WYG plc, Chairman of JJB Sports plc, board member of Ofcom and senior independent director of Betfair Group plc.

Mike also acts as a special advisor to General Atlantic, the US based private equity firm.  Previous roles include Chairman & CEO of Carrier1 International SA and Executive Director & Chief Executive, Global Operations of Cable & Wireless plc. Mike holds a B.Sc Eng from London University.


Tim Haynes
Chief Executive Officer & Founder

Tim brings more than 20 years of Telecoms experience to Nujira, most recently UK Operations Director at Symbionics, where he had management and operations responsibility for engineering staff within the Wireless & Multimedia Division at the company's two UK Design Centres. During his eleven year tenure at Symbionics, Tim successfully founded and managed its highly successful Cellular Business Group, securing multiple multi-million dollar contracts with major Blue-Chip clients. Tim holds a first class honours degree in electrical & electronic engineering.


Andrea Traversone
Non-executive Director

Andrea is a partner at Amadeus Capital Partners Limited, focusing on the wireless telecommunications sector.

Since joining Amadeus in 1998, Andrea has worked on several transactions, and he is currently on the board of Riskclick, which supplies business process management software to the insurance industry; AePONA, which is a provider of open standards service creation platforms for the telecommunications industry; Seven Networks, which allows mobile phone users real-time access to email applications and Nujira.

Andrea started his career as a financial auditor at a chain of resort hotels in Costa Rica, rising to become head of operations, finance and development. He holds an MBA from Cambridge University and a BSc in Economics from the London School of Economics. Italian by birth, Andrea is fluent in French and Spanish, as well as English and Italian.



Niel Viljoen
Non-executive Director

Niel Viljoen is Founder and Chief Development Officer of Netronome systems.

Immediately prior to this Niel was an active business angel investing in several high tech companies in the UK, including leading a seed stage investment in Nujira in 2003. Between 1999 and 2001 Niel served as CTO for the Marconi group where he was responsible for all technology strategy, reporting to the CEO, as a member of the management team.

Niel joined Marconi after the acquisition of FORE for $4.5B in cash, where he was part of the management team. At FORE Niel's last position was SVP & GM of the Service Provider Division.

Here Niel grew the business from $40M to $320M over a three year period. Niel has received a number of industry awards and attended Stellenbosch and Cambridge Universities.



Jens Christian Mathiesen
Non-exectuive Director

Jens Christian Mathiesen is Managing Director at NES Partners and has more than 20 years experience within the capital markets, project finance and private equity investments.

In his capacity as Managing Director at NES Partners, Jens has executed investments and is on the Board on a number of companies across Europe and North America.  Prior to joining the NES Jens has been with companies in the cleantech and financial service sectors. Jens has a MSc in Political Science and BSc in Accounting.



Patrick Sheehan
Non-executive Director

Patrick Sheehan is a partner at ETF and has 21 years prior experience of Venture Capital with 3i, investing in the UK, mainland Europe, the USA and Israel.

During this time he gained a reputation as a thought leader and innovator, investing in a wide range of technology companies across a variety of sectors. He was, for example, the founding MD of Silicon Valley operation and for many years was on the management committee of venture capital operation. Patrick started his career as a research engineer at GEC and as a technical consultant for Marconi Space Systems.

Patrick is the current Chairman of the European Venture Capital Association's Venture Capital Committee, and is a member of the EVCA executive committee. Patrick has a PhD in electronic engineering and a First Class Honours degree in electronic & electrical engineering from UCL.


James Hook
Non-executive Director

James Hook is a Director in the CCC Private Equity Fund.

Prior to joining CCC, James worked for 6 years at Apax Partners, where he focused on venture, growth and buy-out investments, with an emphasis on semiconductors and clean technology. Examples of James' deals include NXP, the largest tech buy-out in Europe, and Q-Cells, one of the most successful venture-backed IPOs. Prior to Apax, James spent 3 years as a strategy consultant with Analysys Consulting, where he served new-entrant and incumbent fixed/wireless operators throughout Europe, America and Asia.

James graduated with an M.Eng. degree in electronic and information engineering from Oxford University, following which he joined ARM as a silicon engineer. James speaks fluent German.
