HAT Modulators

At the centre of Nujira’s High Accuracy Tracking (HAT™) technology is the HAT modulator, which uses advanced switching techniques to provide a high power, high bandwidth and high efficiency power supply to the output device of Envelope Tracking (ET) multi-carrier RF power amplifiers, replacing the normal DC supply feed.

Suitable for use with both LDMOS and GaN RF transistors, the HAT Modulator has been optimised for use with 1-4 WCDMA carriers, or WiMAX 802.16e carriers, with peak-to-average power ratios (PAPR) in the range 6 to 8.5 dB. The modulator is also suitable for use with DVB transmitter stages.

The modulator is intended to be used in conjunction with Crest Factor Reduction (CFR) and Digital Pre-Distortion (DPD) baseband pre-processing: interfacing to the DPD function is via a digital LVDS interface.

Development Platform

Nujira offer a Development Platform to allow users to develop an understanding of the HAT technology, apply it to the development and improvement of their own products, and evaluate the benefits of Nujira’s technology.
